I studied counselling at the Mary Ward Centre in London.
I am a fully qualified Counsellor and I hold:
Level 4 Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills
I work in an integrative way which means I am not confined to one school
of counselling. I like to work creatively offering helpful tools from various respected theories including art therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness guided visualisations and Gestalt based exercises. I am a LGBTQ+ affirmative counsellor.
My main training has been in Psychodynamic (founded by Freud) and Person Centred (Carl Rogers) theories and I am committed to continual
personal development and attend regular workshops. This helps keep me up to date with advances in the field and continually expand my skills.
In conjunction with my private practice I also work at Youth Talk, St Albans and have in the past worked at Bereavement Matters (counselling adults and visiting schools) and Signpost Counselling for Young People Aged 11 to 25 in Watford.
I am currently studying for the Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision at the Mary Ward Centre.
I am a registered accredited member of the BACP and practice under its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and am subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure therein.
